It’s time to start thinking about the Fabric Exchange for the coming year. We will be exchanging Layer Cakes (10” squares) again. (See detailed instructions below)
Purchase 1 ½ yards of quilting quality 100% cotton fabric, launder it, press and cut into 10” squares – no selvages please.
You will have 20 squares of fabric. Place them in a plastic bag (Ziploc gallon bags work really well). Label the bag with your name, bring it to the meeting and leave it in the Layer Cake Square Fabric Exchange basket.
Next month, you will receive your bag back with 20 different squares of material to add to your stash. Here’s the list for the coming year:

Guidelines for Layer Cake Squares
1. Use 1 1/2 yards of 42" - 45" all cotton quilt quality material.
2. Prewash fabric.
3. Please - NO SELVAGES - just cut them off.
4. Cut fabric into 5 - 10" strips.
5. Cut strips into 10" strips - you will have 20 squares to trade.
6. Please have the squares to us by the frst of the month - that way we'll be able to sort them for you. You'll have a great assortment of fabric.
